A little re-introduction… 👋🏼

I’m Heidi Sky, the person behind the business and owner of Hairlusion Clinic.

Recently, I’ve struggled a little with social media and the pressure to constantly create and post “picture-perfect” content. I actually have such a huge backlog of work I could share, but somewhere along the way, social media started to feel like a whole job in itself and I found myself feeling a little blocked and uninspired by it.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve built over the past 7 years and for the success Hairlusion has had, but I’ve realised that my page doesn’t always show much of the person behind the work.

And we are all so much more than just the work we produce.

I don’t want to continuously feel like I have to “keep up”, follow every trend or post what everybody else is posting. I’m not them, and they’re not me.

So from here on, I want this page to feel a little more like me.

Of course I’ll still be sharing my treatments, clients, training and everything Hairlusion,
but I’ll also be sharing more real, authentic posts and giving you a little more insight into the person behind the business.

Less pressure to be picture-perfect. More personality, honesty and real life. 🤍

A little re-introduction… 👋🏼

I’m Heidi Sky, the person behind the business and owner of Hairlusion Clinic.

Recently, I’ve struggled a little with social media and the pressure to constantly create and post “picture-perfect” content. I actually have such a huge backlog of work I could share, but somewhere along the way, social media started to feel like a whole job in itself and I found myself feeling a little blocked and uninspired by it.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve built over the past 7 years and for the success Hairlusion has had, but I’ve realised that my page doesn’t always show much of the person behind the work.

And we are all so much more than just the work we produce.

First treatment / Correction. Now if you scroll you will see this was quite a complex case (not my previous client) I did reccomend laser but he had multiple laser remove treatments prior to his last SMP treatment with a previous artist ➡️➡️➡️

This was by far the worst SMP I’ve actually seen the color was very green and blue and it looked as though it had been far too compact.. whether it was due to how the previous laser impacted the scalp or the artists method 🤷🏻‍♀️

There was 3 years since there last SMP treatment with another artist it was a lot lighter at the front comparison to the back of the scalp

I really feel SMP artists need to learn and thoroughly understand colour theory in more detail as this couple be the case due to the laser treatment impacted the scalp but again then it falls done to colour theory and adapting pigments based on the clients undertones or any pigment shadows on the scalp

Me doing a correction treatment won’t completely erase the previous pigment but my pigment choice will most definitely make the treatment look a lot better outside of having further laser removal.. I however like complex cases 😊

THE SMP REMOVAL JOURNEY…

It’s been quite the journey with this client.

He originally came to me 3 years ago wanting a new SMP treatment, but he already had heavily saturated pigment throughout the scalp, alongside a thick, harsh band of pigment at the front hairline.

After talking things through, I eventually convinced him to begin laser removal with us first, so we could restart the process properly and create something far more natural.

We completed 3 laser sessions together. Although he chose not to fully remove all of the old pigment, we successfully softened and removed that heavy front banding — which completely changed the foundation we were working from.

Fast forward to now… this is after his second SMP session, with a third still pending. 👌

Personally, I actually love the look of SMP around the second-session stage. For me, once too much pigment is placed into the scalp and you can no longer see skin showing through, it can start to lose that soft, realistic finish.

My approach is always about creating a natural illusion — not a solid “helmet” effect.

The third session for me is usually less about packing in more density, and more about perfecting the result, balancing any areas of pigment loss, and refining the overall finish.

LIP BLUSH NEUTRALISATION

Sometimes lip blush is to create a neutral base lip color.
This applies when someone has darker pigment in their natural lips and they want an even lip color.

If someone has darker pigment within their lips and they wanted to go a lighter color you would have to neutralise the lips first before any color of choice is added otherwise it won’t work and will make the pigmentation plus the added pigment on top look darker.

April fools 🙊🙊 Litreally felt so bad trying to prank the lovely Tina 🙈 Tina had laser done which reduced the dark pigment residue and was left with a slightly orange colour so we neutralised the area and created some strokes in the front section.
